I recently bought a log cabin that was between Luray and Kahoka. From what I understand, it originally sat near the railroad and when they needed the train to stop, they would put out a white flag. The hotel was named CAMEY_HOTEL. I am curious about any information I can get on this property and would appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks, Wendy Akeman

I am looking for information on my GGG-Grandfather and his family. They are on the 1850 census for the Athens Township. Head-William MC_CARTY born in Virginia-37yrs.; Wife-Clarinda MC_CARTY born in Kentucky-35yrs.; Daughter-Ellen MC_CARTY born in Kentucky-14yrs.; Son-John D. MC_CARTY born in Kentucky-13yrs.; Son-William H. MC_CARTY born in Missouri-9yrs.; Daughter-Arminda MC_CARTY born in Missouri-7yrs; I believe William was a Methodist Clergy man and I believe they moved into the area sometime around 1838-1841. Any information on this family would be helpful. If anyone has any church records or birth records I would appreciate some one sharing them with me.
